Leo is one of the constellations（星座） of the zodiac（黄道带）, lying between Cancer（巨蟹座） to the west and Virgo（处女座） to the east.

Its name is Latin for lion, and to the ancient Greeks represented the Nemean Lion（尼米亚猛狮） killed by the mythical Greek hero Heracles（大力神） (known to the ancient Romans as Hercules) as one of his twelve labors.
