后，附近有多艘客轮接收到了求救信号，但都以为是玩笑而不予理睬，只有卡帕西亚号坚持到现场。泰坦尼克号有二十艘救生艇，14只常规救生艇均可承载65人，其余4艘折叠艇和紧急救生艇都能坐40人。可是前几艘下海的救生艇只坐了将近一半人，只有最后几艘救生艇坐满了。但真正的最后几艘是没坐满的，由于下放顺序错误，造成最后放的船头几只没坐满人就匆忙放出了。
缓慢下沉的泰坦尼克号发出求救信号弹（其实是礼花弹）（由于没有考虑到船的沉没，所以只携带了礼花弹）。
沉没原因
泰坦尼克号本应全部使用钢铁铆钉，但船头部分巨大的铆钉机过不去，因此船头部分的铆钉是手工安装的。为了便于手工安装，船头使用了没有钢铁铆钉结实的锻铁铆钉。撞上冰山使这里受损最严重。

参观完电影，你可能对那永恒的爱迟迟不忘。电影所呈现的虽然是一场灾难，却再难有一部电影能如《泰坦尼克号》这般给人以灾难中洞彻心灵爱的美好，杰克与露西他们之间的生死绝恋是一场永恒之爱，这是一份绚烂到极致，使得人类的大难做了背景，还妄想突破时间和生死直达永恒的爱情，罗丝从救生船上一跃而起，扑到窗边的一刹，因了这份勇敢和贪求，最为美丽，杰克的离去多么为人心痛，露丝其实一直代替着他精彩的活下去，电影结局处露丝魂归梦处，詹姆斯·卡梅隆用一场灾难，将爱在此变成了永恒。
而我更惊叹的，则是那海底的沉船，那无辜的生命，究竟是什么样的力量使这艘巨轮逝去，令人无限遐想。
