❤️OK, first of all,starting from the Northern hemisphere. Hmm…what do I like the most about the Christmas here? Snow…snow…and snow…Well I have to admit that Christmas without snow is somewhat like a Chinese New Year without CCTV. If you know what I mean. And to spend a white Christmas in Papa Noel’s hometown Finland would for sure be on my ‘Things to do before I die’ wish list.

❤️And what else…hmm…Yes, a good fireplace for the family to gather and share Christmas gifts. Some nice and cozy talks and giggling like we see all the time in the movies. Christmas Eve in Christian countries is equally important as the New Year ’s Eve in China as we all know. There just can’t be a better opportunity to spend some wonderful time with your family of the year.

❤️And the other thing that really attracts me during Christmas are those pretty fairy lights hanging outside the buildings that sparkle the way as well a the gorgeous department store window displays although I’ve only seen them on pictures. But they are just too cute to miss.

❤️What’s more? Hmm…in general, any type of market is my cup of tea, let alone Christmas markets. You know all those pretty but useless things that you can buy from the stalls that women just can’t say no to. And I’m definitely one of them.

Last but not least. Oh my god…are those lovely good-looking Christmas desserts. But if you ask which one is my favorite. I’ll say the very traditional hot Christmas pudding with a greedy spoonful of vanilla ice cream!

Now finished with the northern hemisphere, let’s fly to the southern hemisphere and see what’s interesting going on there! What I’d like to share with you is the beautiful city where I had lived for quite a long time. Auckland, the city of sails, which is the most populated city of New Zealand. There was one thing that I longed the most for every year when the Christmas season came was the Santa parade on Queen Street that has so far brought 81 years of joy to the people of Auckland with its multi-cultural input. And I really miss that one.

The second thing that I miss for the Christmas there of course is the BBQ on the beach with lots of sunshine and summer breeze! Kiwis just can’t live without a good outdoor BBQ!

Then you can also enjoy Papa noel in his swim suit and ladies in bikini that could only be seen on a summer Christmas beach!

Now yes the summer camp! How could you miss a getaway opportunity like this in such a heavenly country? Well unfortunately I did. So this will also be on my ‘Things to do before I die’ list!

Now again last but not least, I have to mention this beautiful plant called the Pohutukawa tree which is the maori name of the iconic Kiwi Christmas tree. It’s also called the ‘tube-brush’ tree, which it often features on greeting cards and in poems and songs, and it has become an important symbol for New Zealanders at home and abroad.
