The main reason is because it’s an underdog story and I was inspired and moved by the story especially by the passion.Right from the beginning to the very end, the film focusses on how Forrest overcame each n every obstacle in life.. The film teaches about being simple, being optimistic, tackling your problems one at a time, living life your way, keeping your promises. It supports the quote, ‘It’s not over till an individual loses all hope n says It’s Over!’.. 

I don’t know where this exactly fits but I guess we, the audience, love it so much because the movie makes us realize that ‘Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.’, which not to mention, is the overall gist of life (& gist of the movie for that matter)..With this belief in his mind,Forrest does everything with full of his passion. That’s what drives him and moves me.
